It is never too early to prepare for the future. If the young children develop their language and thinking skills ,they will become more independent and sucessful adults.China's English-language drive is aimed at preparing people to meet the demands of the more open market after China enters the World Trade Organization. It will ensures that they are able to cope in an information techology age.
The ministry of the education called on schools to begin teaching English to nine-year-olds children or third graders when the new school years begins in September.
It means that they will begin their study of English four years earlier than at present. Today, students begin English at the age of 13 when they are in secondary 1.
