[p=21, 2, left]The film sees 19-year-old Alice return to Wonderland ten years after her original adventures, where she must realise her destiny and end the Red Queen's [b]reign of terror[/b].[/p][p=21, 2, left]Although the film is a 21st Century, technology-laden, [b]visual feast[/b], it is based on the works of the 19th Century mathematician Lewis Carroll.[/p][p=21, 2, left]Lewis Carroll was actually the [b]pen name[/b] of Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, a[b]lecturer[/b] in mathematics at Christ Church College, Oxford.[/p][p=21, 2, left]Carroll is said to have written the book for the entertainment of the children of an Oxford colleague, having [b]made up[/b] stories for them during[b]rowing trips[/b] around the Oxford area.[/p][p=21, 2, left]The books are [b][url=http://d.24en.com/s/?wd=character]character[/url]ised[/b] by a sense of [b]absurd fantasy[/b], however, they also reflect Carroll's fascinations as a mathematician and [b]logician[/b], which may explain why they have had such [b]enduring appeal [/b]for children and adults alike.[/p][p=21, 2, left]It would appear then that 145 years after their original publication Alice's adventures continue to [b]enthral[/b] and [b]intrigue[/b], and will doubtless do so for many years to come.[/p][/size][/font][/color]
