[p=21, 2, left]The [b]branching[/b] tower had been designed to provide [b]mental stimulation[/b] for Tanvir by [b]testing his ingenuity[/b], but after [b]scaling[/b] the[b]exercise structure[/b] in just a few seconds, he [b]lost his nerve [/b]when it came to coming back down.[/p][p=21, 2, left]Tanvir went on to spend nearly two days at the top of the tower trying to [b]pluck up the courage[/b] to attempt a descent.[/p][p=21, 2, left]A [b]spokesperson[/b] for the zoo said that Tanvir had taken half an hour to come down from a smaller structure only 1.5m high previously, and that the taller tower had clearly been too much for him.[/p][p=21, 2, left]"Every time he gets to the edge, he looks out, puts a[b] paw[/b] over, and thinks, 'no, I'm not doing it!'" said Samantha Cordrey.[/p][p=21, 2, left]In the end Tanvir’s hunger [b]got the better of[/b] his fear, and after almost 48 hours he made his way down in order to eat.[/p][p=21, 2, left]And what better way to put such a [b]traumatic ordeal[/b] behind you than by[b]tucking in[/b] to an entire pig’s head?[/p][p=21, 2, left]It appears that Tanvir is none the worse for his experience, but it is not known if he will find [b]the guts[/b] to go back up his exercise tower again.[/p][p=21, 2, left]The whole episode only serves to underline the difficulties faced by zoo staff in creating [b]environments [/b]that will stimulate the animals living in[b]enclosed spaces[/b].[/p][p=21, 2, left]"It was made to challenge him but he's a bit of a [b]wimp[/b]," said Tanvir’s keeper.[/p][/size][/font][/color]
