[p=21, 2, left]It has also been [b]touch and go[/b] over the past few months as to whether the Formula One World Championship would continue [b]as we know it[/b].[/p][p=21, 2, left]The Formula One Team Owners Association (FOTA), consisting of teams such as Ferrari, McLaren, Red Bull, Toro Rosso, Toyota, Renault, Brawn and BMW Sauber, had been[b]campaigning[/b] for changes to the way Formula One is run.[/p][p=21, 2, left]However, FOTA’s threats to [b]boycott[/b] the 2010 racing season and to form their own [b]breakaway[/b] series are now [b]a thing of the past[/b].[/p][p=21, 2, left]After months of [b]strained negotiations[/b] with Formula One’s [b]governing body[/b], the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), an agreement has been reached.[/p][p=21, 2, left]All of FOTA’s members will now participate in the 2010 Formula One World Championship.[/p][p=21, 2, left]Max Mosely, the president of the FIA [b]outlined[/b] the new agreement in which they have agreed to a [b]drop plans[/b] to limit teams’ spending.[/p][p=21, 2, left]They intend to get spending levels back to that of the early 1990s. He also announced that he will [b]step aside[/b] as president of the FIA in October.[/p][p=21, 2, left]FOTA chairman, Luca di Montezemolo said that the FOTA teams had "asked for things which were [b]fair[/b] and [b]realistic[/b]" and welcomed the[b]breakthrough[/b].[/p][p=21, 2, left]Formula One [b]supremo[/b] Bernie Ecclestone also showed relief that an agreement had been reached and said that he was "very happy [b]common sense[/b] had [b]prevailed[/b]".[/p][/size][/font][/color]
