单词?误区
Leaning a language is not a matter of acquiring a set of rules and building up a large vocabulary. 看来我们很多人都走入了语言学习的第一误区:盲目地背了很多单词,但是却不知道怎么用。结果这些单词就像在我们的短时记忆空间里的匆匆过客,根本没有掌握。掌握一门语言在于如何熟练使用,而不是简单地累加单词。实际上,老外使用英语时,不是单词的累加,而是以句子为基本单位。正如亚历山大所说:
In order to become a skilled performer, the student must become proficient at using the units of a language. And the unit of language is not, as was once commonly suppose, the word, but the sentence. Learning words irrespective of their function can be a waste of time, for not all words are equal.

“学生要想成为熟练的语言运用者,就必须能够熟练地使用语言单位,而语言单位并不是人们曾经普遍认为的单词,而是句子。”
看来,我们又陷入了另一误区,就是忘记了背一堆单词并不能使你英语说的流利,君不看有多少过GRE单词的老兄说出英语来让人匪夷所思的。但有的培训机构却是狂讲单词,一个劲地引申,却全然忘记了这条规律,然而这样的学习方法与我们传统方法相差太大,很多学生可能一时无法接受,所以新概念编者将每一个单词都放到特殊的语境下,就是一个故事或文章,让大家先彻底理解,再运用。
我们在背单词中还有一个误区,就是先忙着背一堆名词,形容词,反而忘了背那些代词,冠词的用法,殊不知后者的用处更大。
Learning words irrespective of their function can be a waste of time, for not al words are equal…Words like I, You, he are structural. Their use can be clearly defined; they are part of a grammatical system. Words like tree, plant, flower are purely lexical items and in no way part of a grammatical system. From the learner’s point of view, skill in handling structural words is the key to mastering a language, for the meaning that is conveyed in sentence-patterns depends largely on the function of the structural words that hold them together.
学习单词而不考虑它们的作用可能会白费时间,因为单词并不都是同样重要的。像I,you,he等便是他们的作用可以准确地加以界定,他们是语法体系的一部分;而像tree,plant,flower等词则是单纯的词项,与语法体系豪无关系。就学生而言,运用结构词的技巧是掌握一门语言的关键,因为由句型表达的含义主要依靠把句子联结起来的机构词所起的作用。
光说不练是不行了,厚厚的笔记本,一张一张练习单词的废纸,恐怕我们都要大声呼喊,怎么学英语这么难。兄弟姐妹们,let bygones be bygones,让我们一起来忘记过去,甩掉错误的方法,从新概念开始一起努力吧。 bump 没单词基础也不行把。 yeah,everyone has his own way to study,he just tell how to learn english from another point of view Now you are really talking!
