★ "You see."一语带有「认为对方应该能明白自己所要表达的意思」的味道，如You see, there is no alternative.「你是知道的，根本别无选择。」

★ as best one can「竭尽全力」亦可说成as best as possible，如I managed to keep dry as best as possible.「我尽力保持干爽。」

★ don't need to ~ = don't have to ~「没有~的必要」

★ take ~ for granted「视~为理所当然」此语用于表示认为某事是理所当然的，具有不多加思索或不寻求证据的味道。I take it for granted that you have read this book.「我认为你当然读过这本书。」

★ appreciate「重视，赏识；感激」
