An American-born clergyman wanted by Yemen and the United States has been killed in Yemen. Anwar al-Awlaki was reportedly killed early Friday in an airstrike. Anwar al-Awlaki was riding in a vehicle in eastern Yemen when the airstrike took place.

Several other suspected militants were also killed. Yemeni Defense Ministry officials told the Associated Press that American militant Samir Khan was among those killed. He produced an al-Qaeda English-language magazine on the internet. The reports say American aircraft was used in the strikes.
