WE LIVE HERE AS WELL

Deep in the African desert lives a very dominating pride of lions. The pride consists of about 22 female lions and one male lion. The one male lion is the leader of the pride. He is very dominating, very strong.

Many feared him within his pride and of those of other prides for he is known to have viciously wounded those who dare cross his territory. The King and his pride live in a giant cave in the middle of the desert. The group of lioness and the King are kept cool from the desert heat. At night, the lioness would go out hunting for the pride and the king. Coming home with nothing was a shame for the pride.

The king has taught his lioness how to hunt. Therefore, a lioness coming home without a catch was considered a failure. The king sees his pride as the most dominating of all the other prides in the desert. Thus, making him very angry and violent when the lionesses come with nothing.

He expects the best from his pride. Every month, a lioness would give birth to a lion. If it comes out a female, it surely would be one of the King's future mates or hunters. If it's a male, there's a possibility that the cub could be eaten, killed, or banished by the King, for he fears its possibilities of dethroning him.

On one occurrence, the pride was getting really massive. Space availability was a problem in the cave because it could only fit a certain number or it would be too uncomfortable to sleep. The King had to face a factorial decision. His plans were to banish the weak, the old, and those that are too young to do anything to make room for his pride.

His decision was crucial because losing his lionesses would mean a decline in food coming to the cave (it could also mean less mouths to feed.) Also, he feared that those he let go could come together and become a pride to challenge food availability with. He feared its possibilities of the formed pride to be an even dominating pride. His decision is going to be very crucial.

Soon after, he decides to let go of the excess lions. One of the lions the king let go had been hiding a lion cub, a male lion cub. The new group is hoping that the cub would grow up to be a great and understanding leader. They hope for a leader of selfless delight.

The hottest months of the year had arrived and the new pride had migrated two miles northwest of the original pride. Due to inexperience and a lack of the king's leadership, many of the lionesses have died and struggled in their new life. Some even begged to come back, but they were just eaten by the hungry pride, their skulls used as their prize.

The northwest has harsh winds. Dust flew like swarming bees. Hunting to the new pride was difficult and dangerous. They've moved to the area for it was the only area available to them. Other areas were too close to another pride. Two miles was too close for the aging king's territory. The king wants the new pride far away from him. Far away that food wouldn't be much of an issue against his pride. Far away that violence won't have to take its toll.

The new pride refused to move. Doing so would be more dangerous and their inexperience with harsh weather is destroying them. They plan to do so, but they would wait until they believe it was time. A few years have past, and the male lion cub of the new pride has grown up. He has learned about what's been going on. He is willing to do, as the new pride's king, whatever it takes to make his pride content.

The old king has heard of the new king. The old king once met him after the young king asked for some advice from the old, experienced king. The old king never gave him any advice, but instead ridiculed the young king in front of the others. The young king was lucky to come out alive.

The young king had enough. He was tired of being bullied by the old king. Being bullied by the old king made other kings of prides in the desert think that he is weak, vulnerable, and too young- that he wasn't fit to be king.

The young king believes he knows why the old king has been dominant. He believes that is because the old king began his life wanting to be dominant, and that is exactly what he had become. The old king's past and experience is what other kings of prides fear.

In the heat of a battle, the old king's opponents seem to just give themselves up, enabling him to take advantage and dominate his opponents, EVERY SINGLE TIME. If the young lion king decides to fight like the rest, then he would have to live in the harsh conditions he and his pride currently live in.

If the young lion allows the old king to be dictatorial, then his pride will grow up in fear of him and his pride. But if he doesn't, there's a great possibility that he could change history.

The young king hopes that they would someday be able to live in an area and be proud, be in a place where they will not be ridiculed and disrespected, and live a life away from fear. The young king seeks the possibility to be "THE KING", period, so once and for all no one would doubt the young king.

The young king knows that he must be fearless. He believes that he already has gone through a lot, and that he can handle the situation. When the young king gets his opportunity to show what he has, he surely will take advantage of it the way the old king took advantage of his opponents. But he will do it in a way so that other prides may live knowing him as a respectable king. Alone could be too difficult. But if his pride is willing to do what it takes to get what they want, then together, they should rule the land themselves; the way his pride believes it should be.
