How to Build Self Confidence?

Although clothes don’t make the man, they certainly affect the way he feels about himself. No one is more conscious of your physical appearance than you are. When you don’t look good, it changes the way you carry yourself and interact with other people.

Speaking up（大声地说，大胆地说） is all very well, but not just for the sake of it. If you get crushed by someone else it will soon dent（v.凹陷，削弱）whatever confidence you had. Practise speaking out loud, getting confident just at speaking may be an important first step. Building assertiveness skills, being able to put across（表达出使…理解/接受）your point of view (and believe you have the right to say it) can be practised separately.  

But speaking up is generally dependent on knowing your facts, being confident in your abilities. If sitting in a meeting where the subject is something you know little about - keep schtum（保持沉默）! But when your area of brilliance is on the agenda - when you have every right to feel confident - speak up. Nothing builds confidence like knowledge and expertise.

Suggestions:
1. Take a shower and be hygienic（adj.卫生的）
2. Put on some nice clothes and look good…human bodies require decoration
3. Realize that EVERYONE desires relationships and interaction, not just you
4. Realize that if you mess up（搞砸了）, it’s just ONE event in your 70 year life
5. Realize that confidence is the opposite of focusing on yourself
6. Remember what you’re good at
7. Remember not to act like what you aren’t
8. Accept that you’ll never have to be perfect
9. Accept that you should never wait for life’s “perfect timing”
10. Force yourself out socially and enjoy the ride

虽说衣着不能造就一个人，但是，它确实影响着一个人对自己的感觉。没有人比你更了解你自己的外在形象。当你看上去并不好的时候，它将改变你对自己的看法及阻碍你与其他人的沟通。
“大胆表达”好是好，可是并不是单纯地为此。如果你被某些人侮辱，那么你的自信就会出现裂痕。练习大声地讲出你的观点，说话时自信是重要的第一步。培养自信性格的技巧，能够很清楚地让别人理解与接受你的想法（要相信你有权利说出它），这是可以单独培养的。
但是，能大胆表达通常是建立在了解事实，对自己能力充满自信的基础上的。如果你参加的那个会议的主题刚好你不了解，那么就保持沉默。但是当你的才华能够被体现的时候，当你有权利表现自信的时候，一定要大胆的说出来。没有比知识和技能更能建立你自信的东西了。

建议：
1.  洗个澡而且要注意清洁。
2.  穿些漂亮的衣服，看上去会不错——人类的身体需要装饰。
3.  要知道每个人都渴望朋友和交流，并不仅仅是你一个
4.  如果你这次弄糟了，要知道这只是你70年生涯中的一次。
5.  要知道自信是自我为中心的对立面。
6.  记住你自己擅长什么。
7.  记住不要表现的像另外一个人。
8.  要接受一点：你不必要是完美的。
9.  要接受一点：永远都不要等待生活中“完美的时机”。
10. 逃出社会的牢笼，享受人生的旅程。
