Emerging vocalist and songwriter Kaylee Johnston is busy building a buzz around herself. This young new artist is songwriting, recording, plus a video and tour are in the works.
This Vancouverite produced her first demo four years ago. From that came the song “Arms Around Me”; which garnered her: a finalist slot in the Canadian Radio Star songwriting competition; placement in a made-for-TV movie, a feature on CBC radio; plus a guest spot on the Jack FM morning show.
She worked with producer Eric Solomon in 2009 on three songs, “Ego” was featured on Virgin Radio’s Best of BC.
Busy songwriting since, her lyrics now are personal statements that take very different and unique approaches. For women of her generation, Kaylee’s songs are like a self-help book put to music. |
