A：How was the party last night? Did you enjoy it?  
昨天的派对怎么样？你喜欢吗？
B：Oh, don’t talk to me about last night! It was the most awful evening I’ve ever had.  
噢，别提了！我从未参加过这样糟糕的派对。
A：Why? What happened?  
为什么么？发生什么事了？
B：Well. Mary had promised to be my date, but she stood me up. I waited for her for a full hour in the cold wind.  
玛丽答应与我赴约，她却失约。我在冷风中等了她整整一个小时。
A：What about the party?  
晚会怎么样？
B：It was boring. The music was too slow and the food was lousy and, above all, I was really sick of the same old crowd all the time.

A：So how long did you stay?  
你玩了多长时间？
B：I left after the opening dance. I couldn’t wait to get out of there.
