Google Trends calculateds the ratio of searches for a given term coming from each city,region or lauguage divided by total Google searches coming form the same area.

divided by total Google searches 这句在这里好像特别奇怪. 该怎么理解.

coming form the same area.在句末又该怎么理解.起什么作用.

另外全句怎样翻译,特别是下划线的部分?

to divide by x = 除以x

my attempt at a partial translation:
把来自每一城市…的某一特定词的搜索次数除以Google总搜索数量（就会得到一个分数）
