Face up to

Face up to something   敢于面对，勇于正视（困难或不快之事）.

a) She had to face up to the fact that she would never walk again.
    她必须敢于面对现实: 她再也不能走路了.

b) He faced up to his difficulties like a man.
    他以男子汉的气概勇敢地面对困难。

c) He faced up to his trouble bravely.  
    他勇敢的面对了他的麻烦.

类似表达：

■ He is not a man to bow before difficulties.     他不是那种在困难面前低头的人.

■ He shaped up to his troubles manfully.    他勇敢地面对困难.

    we have to face up to the fact that we can never be free of trouble,some time you must play tough to kick them away.
