Belgium has unveiled its new zero-emissions polar base. The energy self-sufficient station will be a model for future research stations.
The "Princess Elisabeth" station was inaugurated in a Brussels warehouse by Crown Prince Philippe. The station is to be used to study the climate changes in South Pole with the least possible impact on the terrain. Solar panels and large wind turbines will provide the energy sources.
