    students are, in a sense, the ultimate knowledge workers.
2,在某种意义上我同意,但是问题是不可避免的。
   I agree with you in a sense, but the problem is unavoidable.

for instance:

1,so, with fire in more places, there is more pain at the outset.
   因此,在越多地方点火,一开始时就会越痛苦。
2,that would be certainly be preferable to a competitive situation at the outset.
    这样做当然比一开始就处于竞争情况更为可取。


practice:
1,无论如何,对于初学者来说,一开始学英语口语并不是一个好主意。
2,你应该一开始就说明:千万不要以为在这个公司可以铺张浪费。

try to translate these sentences into english.

1,无论如何,对于初学者来说,一开始学英语口语并不是一个好主意。
anyway, it is not a good idea to study oral english for the newcomers at the outset.
2,你应该一开始就说明:千万不要以为在这个公司可以铺张浪费。
You should explain at the outset if you think  you can waste anything in this company.
