United States Army General Martin Dempsey will be sworn in as the new chairman of America’s Joint Chief of Staff on Friday. General Dempsey replaces retiring Navy Admiral Mike Mullen. President Obama will attend the ceremony. Mr. Obama nominated General Dempsey to follow Admiral Mullen as America’s top military commander in May.
