Can you remember each New Year's resolutions you made at the beginning of a year? Did you make good on them or did you forget about them by February? Here are 6 tips that will help you turn those resolutions into reality and reach your goals.

1. Clearly define your desire

You must get really clear about what you want to change, then define it in detail and get totally committed to doing it.

2. Ask friends to aid

When things are going well, your friends can applaud your accomplishments, but when you run out of steam, their cheers will re-establish your enthusiasm and help you head on.

3. Declare your resolutions

Letting more people know about your personal challenges will help keep you from letting the desire die. Responsibility is at least lightly established and your statement is set in stone.

4. Set a timeline

Don't leave your resolutions to rot over the next 365 days. Set spans of space to reach the next mile post on your journey to your great goal. Once one is accomplished, reset the clock and continue to push forward.

5. Celebrate each step forward

Celebrating small successes on the way to difficult goals can help us to achieve them. Make sure you are fully aware of every victory and you will build up momentum that can carry you through the troubles on the road.

6. Make proper adjustments

If you realize that losing 20 pounds in 2 weeks is unrealistic and unhealthy, then make the proper adjustments and keep going on. Don't become discouraged or feel like you've failed. It's not about the numbers or the time; it's the lasting results that matter.
