27日，河南许昌市召开经济工作会议，考评倒数的按要求，领导向大会作书面检讨。“你的发言都是空话，你不要再念了，你下去吧。”听到许昌市委书记毛万春的话，在大会主席台发言的许昌市魏都区委副书记纪某，把话停下来。他抬头看了看毛万春，然后，拿起发言稿，尴尬走下主席台。（河南《大河报》2009年12月28日）
The Economic Working Conference was held in Xuchang city, Henan province, Dec. 27th.During the meeting, leaders who had gotten a poor evaluation in their official performance, needed to make written self-criticisms. “You are just indulging in the empty words, so just stop it and get out.” said MAO Wangchun, the Party Secretary of Xuchang city. Embarrassed by such commentary, JI, a deputy party secretary in Weidu district, Xuchang city, shut his mouth immediately though he was self-criticizing, took a glance at MAO, cleared up his presentation and got down from the platform awkwardly. Officials like that maybe just around you. The only thing they can do is to show off with their empty words and to pose with the prepared presentation regardless of the feasibility in the meetings.
