Bert took his Saint Bernard to the vet(兽医）.
"Doctor," he said sadly, "I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to cut off my dog's tail."
The vet stepped back, "Bert, why should I do such a terrible thing?"
"Because my mother-in-law's arriving tomorrow, and I don't want anything to make her think she's welcome."

Bert带着他的圣伯纳德犬去看兽医
“大夫，”他难过的说，“恐怕我得请您把狗的尾巴给剪掉。”
兽医后退着说“伯特，为什么让我做这么可怕的事？”
“因为我的丈母娘明天就到了，我不想让她看到任何能暗示她受欢迎的东西。”
