Singapore Students to Get Exam Results Via
Mobile Phone
About 13,000 students at a Singapore school will get results of their exams through text messages on their mobile phones, a report said Saturday.
An estimated 80 percent of students at Temasek Polytechnic carry mobile phones and they just have to register with the school's website to be able to get the
service, the Straits Times reported.
Students will receive their grades via short message service (SMS) on the same day the academic examination results are released.
"Currently, SMS is very popular with the students. We want to give them better service and this is one way to do so," said Yew Bok Chin, director of the
school's computer and information systems department.
Singapore, a wealthy Southeast Asian island republic, has one of the highest usages of mobile phones and the Internet in Asia.
