Got an interesting job?
When they board the plane, the hostess asks John and Carl for their boarding passes, and points them in the right direction. They go to their seats, and find they are
seated beside two beautiful women. They are Kelly and Sandra, who had boarded a few minutes earlier. All four people exchange genialities, and then conversation turns to
occupations. As fate would have it, Sandra discovers that Kelly will also be attending UC Berkeley for her Master’s degree, and is looking for a roommate.
Carl:Here’s our seats. Excuse me, Miss…. (Carl and John get in their seats)
Kelly:I’m Kelly, and this is Sandra. Nice to meet you
Carl:My pleasure. This is my good friend, John.
John:Hi. (handshakes all around, then everyone settles in for takeoff)
Sandra:So, are you gentlemen travelling on business or pleasure?
Carl:Business. How about you?
Kelly:I live in San Francisco. I’ll be attending UC Berkeley next month.
Sandra:Is that right! I’m going there too. What a coincidence!
Kelly:Small world! Do you have a place to live, yet? I’m looking for a roommate.
Sandra:No I don’t. I’d be happy to be your roommate. Thanks.
Kelly:No problem. (to John and Carl) What do you do for a living?
John:We work for a software development company. I’m a Sr. Software Engineer.
Kelly:How interesting!swheresdo you work?
John:We’re located in the Silicon Valley.
Kelly:What about you, Carl?
Carl:I’m in Graphics.
Sandra:What’s your position?
Carl:I’m a Sr. Graphics Designer.
Sandra:I love computers. What are your jobs like?
John:Very challenging, and very rewarding.
Kelly:That sounds great. I hope my future career will be the same. Tell me more about your line of work, John (personal conversation with John, now)
