From Washington, this is VOA NEWS. A suicide attack in northern Iraq kills at least twelve, and the US government shutdown up ramping up a fifth day as furloughed workers get hope of back pay. I'm Vincent Bruce reporting from Washington. At least twelve people reportedly have been killed in Balad, an Iraqi Shi'ite town north of Baghdad in a suicide bomber attack. The attack follows an almost identical incident that killed at least sixteen people at the same cafe six weeks ago.
