To strike while the iron is hot.
Good luck would never come in pairs.
Fire proves gold, adversity proves men.
Long hair and short wit.
Blood is thicker than water.
If you would not be known to do anything, never do it.
In unity here is strength.
He whose belly is full believes not him who is fasting.
Easier said than done.
Idleness is the root of all evil.
Wall has ears.
Better be the head of a dog than the tail of a lion.
The foremost dog catches the hare.
Every potter praises his own pot.
The fox preys farthest from home.
The proof of the pudding is in the eating.
One swallow does not make a summer.
ac
One drop of poison infects the whole tun of wine.
Set a fox to keep one's geese.
What do you expect from a pig but a grunt?
He that comes of a hen must scrape.
When the cat's away, the mice will play.
Sink or swim.
He that had no cross deserves no crown.
Jack of all trades, master of none.
Opportunity seldom knocks twice.
A miss is as good as a mile.
Better to be sure than sorry.
Enough is as good as a feast
Who spits against heaven, it falls in his face.
An unfortunate man would be drowned in a tea-cup.
Rome was not built in a day.
It takes two to make a quarrel.
Failures are the pillars of success.
Truth needs not many words.
To pay him back in his own coin.
