国外学生如何遣词造句写托福作文-1

Development in transportation such as the invention of the automobile have an enormous impact on modern society. Choose another development in transportation that you think is of great importance.Give reasons for your selection.

I believe that one of the most importan development in transportation has been the development of international jet transport. Since this style of transportation appeared in the 1950s,it has had some revolutionary effects. Because of the high speeds and the relatively low costs of this type of travel,it has changed the way people look at the world.

The most obviously important characteristic of jet travel is the high speed involved. A hundred years ago, it took weeks to cross the Atlantic or Pacific Oceans by ship. Today, those ame trips can be completed in a matter of hours. One can attend a meeting in Paris and have dinner in New York the same day. These amazing speeds have changed people’s concepts of space.Today the world is much smaller than it was in the past.

Another important aspect of jet travel is its relatively low cost. An interenational journey one hundred years ago was extremely expensive. Only wealthy people could afford to travel comfortably, in first class .Poor people had to save for years to purchase a ticket, and the conditions in which they travel were not very good. Today it is possible for more and more people in every country to travel in comfort.

Thus it is possible for businessman to do business all over the world, for students to attend universities in other countries, and for toutists to take vacations anywhere in the world.

In conclusion, the speed and low cost of international jet travel have changed the world. Individual nations are not as isolated as they were in the past, and people now think of the whole planet as they once thought of their own hometowns.

excellent!

In your opinion, what is the most dangerous threat the world faces today? Discuss some reasons for its existence. Give some possible ways of preventing its occurrence.

Our world today is faced with many major threats. The most dangrous threat of all is war. Everyone in the world fears the outbreak of a war, especially another world war in which nuclear weapons may be used. With the use of nuclear weapons there is the possibility of the destruction of our entire planet. Each war a particular reason, but there are a number of steps countries can take to prevent its outbreak.

One main reason for war is a difference in ideology. For example, nations have engaged in struggles over the merits of communist and capitalist systems of government. The frequently aided other countries in wars in order to topple governments that have not agree with their principles.

Land ownership is also a reason that countris declare wars on their neighbors. Frequently, these conflicts are economic in nature. For example, if oil is found on land in one country and that land can be claimed by another country for historical reasons, that country may declare war in order to recover the land containing oil. A landlocked country needing access to the sea may claim the territory between itself and the sea .When a border between two countries lies in an important food growing area such as , for example, a border formed by rivers, disputes over the water rights and the fertile land can turn into war.

To prevent the destruction of our earth in a nuclear catastrophe, countries should try to sovle their differences through international organizations such as the United Nations. All countries need to educate their citizens to be more tolerant of other idologies. After all, no idology is worth total annihilation of the planet. In addition , the countries that are better off need to give more assistance to those countries that suffer severe economic troubles, so that those countries will not try to solve their problems through violence. In conclusion, there are solutions to the world’s problems, and they should be put into practice now before it is too late.
