The hare can run very fast, but the turtle can only walk slowwly.
One day the hare proudly challenged the turtle to a race.
The hare started very quickly but  stopped to take a nap every now and then.
The turtle walked slowly but surely.
While the hare was sleeping ,the turtle passed him.
Finally , the turtle won the race.
In the end ,he was rewarded for his perseverance.
We can all learn a lesson from the turtle.

He keeps a rabbit as his pet.
I couldn't catch up with him, because he ran fast.

**situation IX   back at home

micheal goes home and talks to his mother about school.

mike:  mum, i had a great day at school.
mum: really? you usually hate school.
mike: i know. but today was  different.
mum: why?what  was so different about it?
mike: today  i spoke only english and i had a lot of fun.
mum: did your teachers understand?
mike: yes, they all understood. well, actrually one got mad and hit me.
mum: who was it? i will talk to him!
mike: no, don't worry about it. he only hit my hands.
mum: alright ,if you say so. but it still makes me mad. by the way ,who did you speak english with?
mike: i spoke english with andy. do you remember him?
mum: of course i remember him. that is so funny.
mike: why is it funny?
mum: because i met andy's mother today, and we desided to speak english, too.
mike: really? but andy's mother was an english major in college. can you speak english with her?
mum: why not? even if her english is better than mine, i can still practice.
mike: that's ture. well, mum ,you are really smart!

Ray was walking  on the beach one summer day when he heard a little boy shout : "help! help!"
The boy was drawning.
Without thinking ,Ray dove into the water.
Soon he was swimming back to shore with the boy.
Crowds of people were watching eagerly.
After a while ,the boy was breathing again.
Then the boy sat up, he said to Ray:  "You're my hero!"


I saw him sing. I heard him sing. I felt him touch my hand.
I saw him singing. I heard him singing. I felt him touching my hand.
I saw him punished. I felt my hand touched.
I am eager to see him.
I can breathe the fresh air there.

I'm not superstitious, but i hope he's right.


He can read my face / palm, and tell my fortune.
He sold his house and made a fortune.
He works very hard, so he will have a bright future / he has no future at all.
