Firstly, school shoud be overall respponsible for the students' security both body and beonglings, even train the students to protect themselves and their belongings, at least camera in necessary places, such as aisles and entrance hall.
Secondly, as a adult, you should have the common sense about security, such as block security lock, pay attention to the strangers, uaually, the neighbors are from the same major, they are classmates, or from the same collage,  they know each other's feature , and if necessary, they can come to an union to protect from stanges.
