During this time,many of the England poor woman services for the wealthy. As most of the jobs were far from their homes, the servants lived in the houses of their employors. From Mothering Sunday,the servants were having the day off to encourage them to return home and spend the day with their mothers. The special cake,called “the Mother's Cake" were often brought about to provide festive touch.
