Make the best of / Make the most of：充分利用；善用时机；做最有效的利用

a) The sailors make the best of everything under attack of the storm.
    船员们在暴风雨的侵袭下逆境求生.  

b) We should make the best of our opportunities to speak English.
    我们应该尽量利用机会讲英语.

c) Why don't you just smile and make the best of it?
    你为什么不开朗一点, 随遇而安呢？

常见词组：

Make the best of a bad job（在困境中尽力而为；尽力把损失减少到最小）

Make the best of one's way.  (尽量往前走; 尽量快走)

Make the best of the time（充分利用这段时间）
