It is beautiful that of Nice, a carefree city of the riches. Lavishing hotels that fit only the aristocrats. Gucci, Lanvin, McQueen, John Galliano, Armani, finest designers at your command. Casinos, Theatres and gourmet Restaurants, show places of High Society. The young, the beautiful and the riches.
Ah! The Isle of Greece, those white sands, those beaches. The white painted houses with doors of million colors. The streets are wandered by string bikinis, thongs and sandals of various materials. A totally free place and people, those Greek and children of this modern era. . One can bare themselves not only on the beaches but on ones balcony. And see the others who bares. Seen and be seen. The open café that open through the night, music and dancing. A life of Gold.
The yacht, without which life would not be complete. You sail into the Sunset, with a glass of champagne in your hand sipping, a short diamond chain around you ankle, while the breeze touched your hair and caressed your naked body, that late sun had reflected into golden glow, glaring at the cliff of Monte Carlo.
But life in Paradise does not come without a price.
Charlene sang: -
“Undressed by kings”
“Seeing things a woman ain’t supposed to see”
“Crying for the unborn children”
“That might have make life complete”
“Be bitter from the sweet”
“Whoring”
From Glory to simplicity. We all longed for such gorgeous life and not caring for the price to be pay!
I had a glimpse and I am back, wrecked.
Thanks for XXX_21 who mentioned this song. This is one of my favorites, one that I listened often in the road, in those yonder years.
(The Song’s Lyric)
I've Never Been To Me - Sang by Charlene
Hey Lady,
You really cursing at your life.
You're a discontented mother
And a regimented wife.
I've no doubt you dream about the things you never do,
But I wish someone had a talk to me like I wanna talk to you.
I've been to Georgia and California,
And anywhere I could run,
Took the hand of a preacher man,
And we made love in the sun,
But I ran out of places
And friendly faces because I had to be free.
I've been to paradise, but I've never been to me.
Please Lady,
Please Lady,
Please don't just walk away.
Cause I have this wait to tell you,
While I'm all alone today.
I can see so much of me still living in your eyes,
Won't you share a part of a weary heart that had lived a million lives.
Oh I've been to Nice and the Isle of Greece
When I sipped champagne on a yacht,
I moved like hollow in Monte Carlo,
And showed them what I've got,
I've been undressed by kings
And I've seen something that a woman ain't supposed to see
I've been to paradise, but I've never been to me.
(Recital)
Hey you know what paradise is? Is a lie,
A fantasy recreate about people and places,
As we would like them to be.
But you know what truth is,
Is that little baby you're holding,
Is that man you fought with this morning,
The same one you gonna to make love tonight,
That's truth
That's love.
Sometimes I've been to crying for unborn children
That might have make me complete,
But I, I took the sweet life
And never knew I'll be bitter from the sweet.
I've spent my life exploring,
The sun with whoring that costed too much to be free
Hey Lady, I've been to paradise,
But I've never been to me.
