1。我挣的钱只够我勉强维持生活。
   I was earning barely enough money to keep body and soul together ,
2，这么一点儿钱，一家人简直没法维持生活。
   with this sum ,the family could hardly keep body and soul together .

keep an eye on "照看，监视，留意"

for instance：

1，you must keep an eye on the child .
    你务必要看顾好那个小孩。
2, we want players to have to keep an eye on mana .
    我们希望玩家们不得不时刻留意自己的法力值。

practice：

1，我是一个单身妈妈，并且努力管住我的孩子。
2，警察绝不可能监视每一个人，但每一个公民应自觉遵守法律。

try to translate these sentences into english .

I am a single mother and keep an eye on my child .
Police can not keep an eye on everyone at all,but each citizen should follow the law consciously.
