表示相互关系的代词叫相互代词。英语中相互代词只有两个，即 each other 和one another。

1. 相互代词的用法

英语相互代词没有人称或数的区别，在句子中常只用作宾语。如：

We haven’t seen each other for ages. 我们好久没见面了。

The children made faces at one another. 孩子们相互做鬼脸。

注意：

由于相互代词只用作宾语，不用作主语，所以对于以相互代词作宾语的句子通常不能变为被动语态。

2. each other 与 one another的区别

许多人认为，each other 指两者，one another 指三者或三者以上，但现代英语中两者常可通用，没有明显的区别。

3. 相互代词的所有格形式

相互代词的所有格为 each other’s / one another’s，在名词前对名词进行修饰和限制。如：

They know each other’s [one another’s] weak points. 他们都彼此了解对方的缺点。
