这首歌曲的作曲者为威廉•巴特勒•叶芝 William Butler Yeats（1865.6.13—1939.1.28），爱尔兰著名的诗人、剧作家和神秘主义者。叶芝也是“爱尔兰文艺复兴运动”的领袖，艾比剧院（Abbey Theatre）的创建者之一，他于1923年获得诺贝尔文学奖，这也说明了为什么Salley Garden 如此地富有诗意。 Down by the Salley Gardens 有许多个不同的版本，听起来，有不同的味道：日本歌手 藤田惠美具有天籁般嗓音，歌声就有如温暖的泉源般，向世人传达出源源不断的爱。
