本月，湖南遭受了1954年以来罕见的雨雪冰冻灾害，造成车辆，旅客大量滞留。国务院总理温家宝十分关心灾区的群众，以最快的速度赶往湖南，并到长沙火车站看望了滞留旅客。那么，“滞留旅客”怎么说呢？

请看新华社的报道：

Premier Wen Jiabao expressed "deep apologies" to the stranded passengers at Changsha railway station in Hunan, who are eager to go home for the Spring Festival holiday.

"Early festival greetings to you," Wen said.

报道中说，温总理对滞留在湖南火车站的旅客们表达了新春的问候，总理说，“给大家拜个早年”，同时，他对滞留在火车站，渴望回家过年的旅客表达了深深的歉意。

这里，滞留旅客表达为“stranded passengers”；strand 此处为“搁浅，陷入困难或毫无办法的境地”。例如：The convoy was stranded in the desert.使团在沙漠中陷入了困境。 此处用来形容旅客被困在火车站、无法立刻回家过年的两难境地。

Thank you.
It's lucky for me to work in the city near my hometown so I don't need to take train to go home, which means I wouldn't be a stranded passenger whatever happens.
