US restaurant chain Kentucky Fried Chicken said Monday it was conducting market tests of grilled chicken menu options for diners who prefer not to eat fried food. The grilled chicken menu options will contain less calories and fat than KFC's comparable fried chicken meals.
跟北京最具特色的全聚德烤鸭roast duck不同，肯德鸡的“烤鸡”译成grilled chicken。Roast 意思是“to cook with dry heat, as in an oven or near hot coals （烘烤，如放在烤箱里或热煤附近通过干热烘烤），而grill 是to broil on a gridiron（烧烤，放在烤架上烤）。虽然都是“烤”，但工具有所不同哦。
grill 做动词时，有“烧烤，严加拷问”的意思；作为名词时是“烧烤店，烤架”等意思。
