Drinking camel's milk has been heralded as a healthy treat, low in fat and containing ten times more iron than cow's milk.

But when ice cream made from camel's milk goes on sale in the UK it could give consumers the hump.

Now the treat is to be marketed as a health food and will be sourced from Europe's only camel dairy farm in the Netherlands, it has been reported.

After being unveiled at a food show in London next month, camel ice cream could go on sale in the UK.

The wacky dessert is the creation of British business Ginger's Comfort Emporium.

Organizer Alexa Perrin said: "Camel milk is very creamy but it has a light texture. You can see from how "superfoods" have taken off in Britain that many people want to buy products that are unusual and have been shown to be very good for the body."

The dessert is thought to have five times the levels of B vitamins than ice cream containing cow's milk, which are vital for healthy growth.
