Officials in the Philippine say they are working to get food and supplies to thousands of people who remain trapped by flooding. The floods resulted from two severe storms. Officials said almost three million people have been affected. Most were said to be in three Northern provinces.

The World Food Program says flooding in Pakistan has affected more than five million people and destroyed 73% of the season’s food crops. In Thailand, flood waters have killed more than 200 people and affected at least two million more. A United Nations agency has urged governments to increase investments in disaster risk reduction to limit the effect of seasonal flooding.
