Please read this short passage carefully and answer the question"why the fat lady is angry?"


Roast pig (烤乳猪)

A gentleman was invited for dinner.
When he hurried there and sat down, he was happy to see a roast pig in front of his seat:"Not bad, I am next to the pig."
But then he noticed the angry fat lady sitting next to him.
He faked a smile and added: "Oh I am sorry, I meant the roasted one on the table."

Notes.

1.roast [rəust]

   n.  烤肉, 烘烤  例句：Let's have a nice roast for Sunday dinner.

   v.  烤             例句： The beef is roasting nicely on the spit.

        晒             例句：They sat in the sun roasting themselves.
   
  adj.  烘烤的，烤过的  例句：His favorite dish is roast duck.

2.bake, roast, toast   这些动词均有“烘，烤”之意。

   bake: 指在烤炉里烘烤，不与火直接接触，用持续的干热，缓慢地烘烤任何食物。

   roast: 一般指在火上烤大块的肉或整只牲畜或家禽。

   toast: 侧重通过烘烤使烘烤之物变成褐色，尤指烘面包、熏肉等。
