A: I'm starving to death!
B: Didn't you have breakfast?
A: Well, I had a quick brunch of sandwiches and coffee around 10:00.
B: How can you say you're hungry? It's only eleven!

A: 我快饿死了！
B: 你没吃早餐吗？
A: 哦，十点左右我早餐午餐合在一起简单吃了三明治和咖啡。
B: 那你怎可喊饿？现在才十一点！

重点解说：

★ I'm starving.「我好饿。」to death一语用于强调其程度，如I'm tired to death.「我累死了。」
★ brunch指「早餐与午餐并在一起吃的一餐」，是由breakfast + lunch所合成的字。
★ How can you say ~? 「你怎可说~？」此语用于以一种不屑的口吻表示无法赞同对方的说法。"How can you..." "How could you..." "I don't know how you can..."等用于表示你无法赞同某人的作为，或难以相信对方刚刚所说的话，如A: I'm bored.「我觉得厌烦。」B: How can you be bored?「你怎可厌烦呢？」
