American english and British english
Many students want to know the difference between American english and British english, how did the differences come about?There is no quick answer to this question.At first ,the english between the America and the British was the same.
In 1776,America became an independent courtry,after that ,the language slowly begun to change,for a long time ,the language in the America stays the same,when the language changed? for example, three hundred years ago,the english talked about fall,today most British people talked about autumn,but Americans still talked about fall. In the same way,the American still use the same expression I guess ,meaning I think, just as the British did three hundred years ago.
At the same time ,British english and American english started borrowing words from other languages,ending up from the different words, for example ,the British talked taifun from chinese,while the American talked tanido from sdanish.In 1820, published the first American dictionary,he wanted to make the American english different from the British english ,so he changed the spelling of the many words ,that is why the words colour center and troubler are spelled colour /center /troubler in American englisn,except for the diference the spelling ,writing english are both the same in the languages.The difference are greater than the spken language.
