to respect 不定式啊

"To respect" isn't an infinitive here. It's a preposition, kind of like the "to" in "belong to". I think you can usually translate it with 的. Here are some more examples:

The trick to making good jiaozi is using good ingredients. [请问，这个trick汉语怎么说?]
I think his words have a certain truth to them. [them = 他的话]
