The new N1 tablet is the company's first Nokia-branded Android tablet.
Foxconn, which is already Apple's main producer, is being tapped to build the new tablets, which are going to be retailing in the Chinese market early next year.
The Nokia tablets are going to cost around 15-hundred yuan.
Nokia also plans to introduce the N1 tablet in Russia and certain European markets.
Nokia's move has come as a bit of a surprise, as the company appeared set to focus on telecom services following its 8-billion US dollars sale of its handset division to Microsoft in April.
