Walking around the shopping malls of Beijing, you will find a throng of glass-enclosed mini karaoke booths covering just 2 square meters, in which people indulge in their love of singing without blasting out loud music.
迷你卡拉OK房或迷你KTV（mini karaoke booths），里面的设备与传统的KTV类似，有一个大型触摸屏（a large touch screen），两个高脚凳（two barstools），两副耳机（two pairs of headsets）和两个高感知度的麦克风（two high sensitivity microphones）。
与传统KTV不同的是，迷你KTV可以进行实时录音（real-time recording），用户唱完之后，唱过的歌就会自动发送到用户手机上，以便分享到社交媒体。如果用户想要把唱过的歌制作成一张专辑（make the recordings into an album），也是可以实现的。
迷你KTV的出现，为消费者在碎片化的时间（fragmented time）里提供了一种全新的娱乐消遣方式（new way of entertainment）。逛商场累了，可以边休息边唱歌；电影开场之前有点时间，可以唱首歌来消磨时间。
