Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has announced it's opening a 'Mi Home' retail store in India.
中国智能手机生产商小米宣布将在印度开设“小米之家”零售店。
This will be the third Xiaomi store outside China, and follows the openings of outlets in Singapore in October last year, and the second in Malaysia last month.
The new retail store will be sited in Bengaluru, in Karnataka state.
Apart from smartphones, the 'Mi Home' store will offer other popular devices such as fitness bands, headphones, power banks and air purifiers, according to media reports.
As India's second largest smartphone brand after Samsung, Xiaomi shipped 4 million units and has achieved a 14-percent market share in the country during the first quarter of 2017.
Its revenue crossed the 1-billion-USD mark in India in 2016, reports Bloomberg.
At home in China, Xiaomi has already opened about 80 'Mi Home' retail stores. In April, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun announced on Sina Weibo that the company would continue to set up retail outlets, with the number reaching 200 by the end of the year. 英语新闻
