停杯不饮待春来，和气先春动六街。

生菜乍挑宜卷饼，罗幡旋剪称联钗。

休论残腊千重恨，管入新年百事谐。

从此对花并对景，尽拘风月入诗怀。



Old Calendar of “Spring Begins”

Zhu Shuzhen

I stop drinking from my cup and wait for spring’s embraces

That come first with warm breeze and then spread to broad streets.

Satin ribbons are quickly cut to weave hair laces;

Lettuce can roughly be chosen to make spring treats.

Tell me not you have thousand rues when winter’s due;

Everything turns harmonious when the New Year comes.

Hereafter, I’ll gaze upon flowers and nice view,

And bring wind and moon into my poetic arms.
