Childhood is the best phase of one’s life free of societal responsibilities and financial burdens. Poets and writers from time immemorial have been influenced to write some beautiful compositions for this phase of life.
Poems on children are generally encouraged by the memories people have for their childhood. These memories are often seen to be most important ones to any person.
Following are some of the beautiful compositions in the form of poetry that encapsulates the spirit of childhood and the most beautiful phase of life.
My Precious Child
The greatest gift we will ever know
is a child, born to love and grow.
Conception is a miracle in itself;
the start of new life and good health.
Such a treasure your precious child is,
who will thrive on every hug and kiss.
Hold them close and sing them songs;
they will only be a child for so long.
They may not always smell pure and sweet,
a dirty diaper or a dampened sheet.
But with a loving cuddle and a beautiful smile,
the joys of parenthood are all worth while.
"Thank you Lord for our precious child."
A Child in the Garden
When to the garden of untroubled thought
I came of late, and saw the open door,
And wished again to enter, and explore
The sweet, wild ways with stainless bloom inwrought,
And bowers of innocence with beauty fraught,
It seemed some purer voice must speak before
I dared to tread that garden loved of yore,
That Eden lost unknown and found unsought.
Then just within the gate I saw a child, --
A stranger-child, yet to my heart most dear;
He held his hands to me, and softly smiled
With eyes that knew no shade of sin or fear:
"Come in," he said, "and play awhile with me;"
"I am the little child you used to be."
