Gong Li to try comedy next year
Renowned(adj.有名的, 有声誉的) Chinese actress Gong Li said she hopes to try her hand(try (one's) hand:第一次试着做某事) at playing a range of different characters in different genres(类型、种类) next year, especially comedy.
While shooting(拍电影、摄影)an ad for a bedding product in Guangzhou, Gong Li said she would like to play a comic role next because she would relish(欣赏、喜欢)the challenge of this difficult genre.
The actress plans to shoot two or three Hollywood movies but says she will consider non-Hollywood productions if the scripts(剧本)are good.
Gong Li has finished shooting two films this year, Hollywood blockbuster(一鸣惊人的、流行佳作)"Miami Vice" (《迈阿密风云》)and her ninth work with Zhang Yimou(张艺谋), "Curse of the Golden Flower"(《满城尽带黄金甲》). The Chinese star is currently taking time off(take time off<美>抽出一部分时间) to promote a household product.
