70 rumor and gossip
You hear a juicy story from a friend, who heard it from another friend, who heard it from a person in the hall, who read it on a note pass in mid class which was written by somebody probably just made about it. Chances are, rumors and gossip are always rolling around your school or community, that’s totally normal. After all, everyone gossips, even parents, celebrities and politicians. It’s part of how we communicate and stay connected with other people’s wives. But what is the difference between a rumor and gossip? A rumor is a piece of information for a story that has not been clarified. Meaning, that the person telling it doesn’t know if it’s true or false. It might be true, it might be partly true and partly made up, or might be totally made up. Gossip are neither of them. It’s a little different. Gossip is talked then somehow juicy. Meaning it deals with subjects that are shocking or personal. Gossip is usually about things like love and relationships, or private things that people don’t talk openly about. When a piece of gossip is known be false, it a lie playing in symbol. If a piece of gossip about somebody is true, it can still be very hurtful. Because that information may be private and personal. Sometimes, rumors and gossip are harmless, but in other times, it can be very hurtful to individuals, friendships and whole groups of people. Did you know that spreading a rumor and gossip about someone is a formal offending? Yes. |
